1. PANKAJ ADVANI WINS 24TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN DOHA

PANKAJ ADVANI

  • He won his 24th World Championship TITLE AT THE IBSF SIX-RED SNOOKER World Cup with a win over Pakistani Babar Masih in the final.
  • Pankaj Advani, who won his 11th Asian title last week, kicked off the final with a comfortable 42-13 win in the first quarter.
  • Babar achieved a tie by winning the second 38-14.
  • The Thirty-six-year-old won the third and fourth in quick succession to go 3-1 up.

 

2. BANGLADESH PM  SHEIKH HASINA RECEIVES SDG PROGRESS AWARD
  • The UN-sponsored Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has conferred Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the “SDG Progress Award”.
  • She was given this award for Bangladesh’s steady course in responding to the universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all.

4. MAHANT NARENDRA GIRI PASSED AWAY
  • Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, died in Baghambari Muth in Prayagraj.
  • He committed suicide and the case was published. The suicide note, which covers nearly eight pages, reveals that the seer was deeply disturbed, but does not mention clearly the incidents that led him to take the extreme step.
  • In 2016, Narendra Giri assumed the leadership of Akhara Parishad.
  • In 2019, Giri was elected as the second Parishad leader.

 

5. AZIZ AKHANNOUCH NAMED AS THE NEW PM OF MOROCCO
  • Aziz Akhannouch was nominated Prime Minister of Morocco.
  • He was appointed by Moroccan King Muhammad VI.
  • His party won 102 of the 395 members of Parliament.
  • He served as Minister of Agriculture between 2007 and 2021 under the previous government.

 

6. MY GOV LAUNCHED PLANETARIUM INNOVATION CHALLENGE FOR INDIAN START-UPS

PLANETARIUM INNOVATION CHALLENGE FOR INDIAN START-UPS

  • On 11 September 2021, MyGov India launched the Planetarium Innovation Challenge aimed at Indian startups and technology entrepreneurs.
  • This program was started by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
  • It was conducted in collaboration with MyGov where many schools, parents, and enthusiastic mentors made it a memorable experience by actively participating
  • The challenge invites startups and technology entrepreneurs to develop state-of-the-art technologies for our planetariums.
  • The first winner, second winner, and third winner of the competition will receive the cash prizes of Rs.5 lakh, Rs.3 lakh and Rs.2 lakh respectively.

 

7. LADAKH HOSTS: THE FIRST HIMALAYAN FILM FESTIVAL
  • The first Himalayan Film Festival is scheduled for September 24-28, 2021.
  • Its venue is Leh – Ladakh.
  • A five-day gastronomic festival will also be held on the film festival website.
  • A group of films selected for the Contemporary National Awards and Indian Panorama will be shown during this period.
  • It will be shown at the Indus Culture Auditorium Leh. A film based on the life of Param victor Vir Chakra, Captain Vikram Batra – ‘Sher Shah’ will be projected during the festival’s inaugural season.

 

8. NCW LAUNCHED TRAINING & CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN DAIRY FARMING
  • The National Commission for Women recently launched a national training and capacity development program for women in the dairy industry.
  • The first program in the project was “value-added dairy products” for SHG women’s groups.
  • The first programme of the project was held in LUVAS, Hisar.
  • LUVA means — Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences.
  • It was organised in conjunction with the Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission (HSRLM).
  • NCW Work with Indian agriculture universities to develop women involved in dairy production and related activities.

 

9. FOURTH INDO-US HEALTH DIALOGUE 2021
  • The 4th edition of the Indo-US Health Dialogue was discussed by Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar (Minister of State of the Union for Family Health and Well-being), 27 September 2021.
  • The two-day dialogue will be used as a platform for deliberation on the multiple ongoing health sector collaborations between the US and India.

 

10. 17 TH FORMATION DAY OF NATIONAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
  • The 17th founding day for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on September 27, 2021.
  • This year’s Foundation Day theme is “Cascading Effects of Disasters in the Himalayan Region”.
  • It is important to note that NDMA is led by the Prime Minister.
  • It’s the Disaster Management Summit of India.
  • The developers of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the creation of an enabling environment for institutional arrangements at the state and district levels are outlined in Disaster Management.

 

11. PM LAUNCHED AYUSHMAN BHARAT DIGITAL MISSION
  • On September 27, 2021 PM, Modi has been launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). It will link digital healthcare solutions in hospitals across the country
  • The country’s citizens will now receive a digital health identification
  • The health record for all citizens will be protected electronically.
  • The Digital Health ID also allows the patient and physician to check old records if necessary.
  • Not only that, there will also be the registration of co-workers such as doctors, nurses, paramedics.
  • The hospitals, clinics, labs, medicine shops in the country, all these will also be registered. It will bring together all health stakeholders on a single platform.

 

12. 76TH SESSION OF THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN NEW YORK CITY
  • Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 76th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
  • The theme of the 2021 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 76th session was ‘building resilience through hope to recover from Covid-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, the respect of people’s rights, and the revitalization of the United Nations.
  • On June 7, 2021, Abdulla Shahid, a Maldivian politician, and diplomat, and current Minister of Foreign Affairs, was elected Speaker of the General Assembly.
  • The five permanent members of the UN Security Council are the United States, the UK, Russia, France, and China.
  • The headquarter of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is in New York, USA.

 

13. A BOOK TITLED: THE FRACTURED HIMALAYA AUTHORED BY NIRUPAMA RAO
  • Nirupama Rao’s book “The Fractured Himalaya: How the Past Shadows the Present in India-China Relations”.
  • The book explores how the origins of the conflict between India and China are part of a living story that today shapes their conflict relationship.
  • Nirupama Rao is a former Secretary of External Affairs.
  • The Government of Kerala presented her with the Vanitha Ratna Award.

 

14. SHANTI SWARUP BHATNAGAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD 2021
  • The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Science and Technology Award 2021 was announced during the 80th founding day of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
  • Each year, the CSIR awards this award to scientists under the age of 45 for their contributions in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, medicine, engineering, and earth, atmospheric, ocean, and planet sciences.
  • The prize is made up of a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh.

 

15. WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DAY

  • Global Environmental Health Day is celebrated on September 26.
  • This year’s theme is “Prioritizing Healthy Environmental for Healthier Communities in the Global Recovery.”
  • This day is important at this time, as most parts of the world continue to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
  • The event was launched by the International Federation for Environmental Health at a meeting in Indonesia in 2011.
  • World Environment Day takes place on June 5th.
